I decided to create Round Table Resolutions after practicing law for over 15 years and finding that even when the court gave my clients what they asked for, they rarely got the deeper relief they needed. Feeling their frustration, and experiencing a good deal of frustration myself, I began to explore other dispute resolution techniques.
In 2003, I attended and completed Woodbury College’s intensive, year-long, fulltime training program in Mediation/Conflict Management (note—Woodbury College has since merged with Champlain College, which now runs the program). I have completed several advanced conflict management trainings in specific fields, including Elder Mediation, Environmental Mediation, Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation and Land Use Disputes.
The bulk of my experience as an attorney has been in the areas of environmental law, administrative law and elder law. I have represented clients in administrative hearings and trial courts (Superior and Probate) and have drafted proposed legislation and regulations.
I have served as President of the Vermont Mediators Association and as a Senior Mediator in the Chittenden County Small Claims Court Mediation program, where I supervised and acted as a mentor to junior mediators. I have led workshops in basic legal procedure for students at Woodbury College.
I live in Burlington with my wife and family, currently consisting of 3 kids, 2 cats, and 5 chickens.
